Steve Hart. Candidate for Port Waikato

Steve Hart has 50 years experience in the design industry combining the
disciplines of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design
through Permaculture into Ecological Agriculture functioning as an
Ecology Architect with one foot firmly in the paddock.

Steve has held senior positions on a number of local authorities and worked in several countries.

Having a visionary approach mixed with field practicality, a
grasp for the big picture and all the elements that make up the whole.
Growing up on a mixed cropping dairy farm in Pukekohe, Steve shares
experience from many differing projects of a wide scale through different
continents and many environments.

Now on a small farm with his family growing diversity. He is a natural networker connecting with all people to advance collective positive outcomes. He is a very practical designer, passionate about organic solutions connecting all layers of community.
Not afraid of leading debate on any topic to wet the appetite of
controversy, moving complacency on topics needing exposure while
considering principle before personal gain.

Steve is more than familiar
with Port Waikato’s electorate its environment and needs being a
consultant and advisor in agriculture, landuse and urban design.

He’s sat on a number of national body executives, boards, NGO and management groups, including the NZ Professional Hunting Guides Association, Electricorp Environmental Management Board, NZ Federation of Freshwater Anglers and the NZ Professional Fishing Guides Association.
