NZ Outdoors Party Seniors Policy

Our Vision: We want to create a country where we are admired by the world not just because of our wonderful natural environment, but because of the way we live. A way of life that protects and enhances that environment.

What is the goal of the seniors policy?

To advance support and protect the welfare, well-being and quality of life of all Seniors. To recognise their incredible contribution to New Zealand throughout their lives. To ensure that they are able to contribute in which ever way they choose, to the future prosperity of NZ, either through work or volunteering.

Will you increase entitlements?

We will Increase superannuation entitlements to 90% of the minimum wage

What about tax on Superannuation?

We will remove the tax on Superannuation if your weekly income is under $600.00

Do you think retirees should be able to work or volunteer?

Yes we believe they are a valuable resource and to further cement their position in our communities by making it easier for them to work and volunteer in their chosen fields

Will you consider a seniors commissioner?

Yes we will appoint a Seniors Commissioner with wide ranging powers whose specific aim is to report on progress towards our goals. Unlike existing parties, we are not afraid to be held to account.

What about those seniors who do not own a home?

We will ensure that all Seniors have access to safe and fit for purpose housing

Will you do more using the Gold Card?

We will increase transport concessions so that seniors can access safe and reliable transport as well as any other useful concessions.

What is the future for seniors under an NZ Outdoors Party led government?

We will ensure that NZ Seniors are able to lead safe, dignified, productive and happy lives
