Michele Mitcalfe – Candidate for Northland

michele_mitcalfe

I’m Michele Mitcalfe. I live just north of Kaitaia in Northland. At this stage in my life, I can help affect some positive change about things that truly matter to me, I feel very passionate about this.  I have always had concerns about environmental issues, sometimes feeling overwhelmed by all the problems.

Now the timing feels right to fight for the good of our country for future generations etc, with support from like minded people.

I become involved with the NZ Outdoors Party learning more about 1080 and Brodifacoum helicopter drops and the 5G Roll out. Then on the global protest day I spoke in front of a number of people about 5G.  Not many people knew anything about this, so it fired me up.  Now we have a small group of citizens in the Far North working on the 5G issue.

The time has come to make a change.

Last year I made the big decision to close my shop in Kaitaia, this has been going for around 16 years.  The date I have set is the end of May 2020, no more shop.  I have had a lot of customers and built up many relationships over the years.

I brought up my two son’s in The Far North.  They are now adults 22 and 25 years old and both live in Adelaide pursuing their dreams.

Now I have found my passion and it is working on this 5G issue with others in the Far North.

My business, I created to allow travel to other countries collecting handcrafted products that aid sustainable trade from around the world, plus local hand crafts.

I have a Diploma in Art and Creativity, am a skilled candle maker and in days gone by a fused glass artist.

This year I was attending Te Wananga O Aotearoa to learn Te Reo and am very keen to learn more about He Wakaputanga o Rangitiratanga o Nu Tireni and Te Tiriti O Waitangi, having some Maori heritage myself.  This now on hold (due to covid reaction) till next year, all going to plan.

I am also very concerned about other issues raising their ugly head at the moment also, like mandatory vaccinations that we are starting to see overseas.  The noticeable ignorance of our current government to natural healthcare and our freedom of choice.

Democracy turned on its head, very worrying that the government continues to roll out infrastructure for 5G while we have been locked down. The 1080 issue is a constant worry also.

That healthy people have been locked down is ridiculous.  That all small businesses forced to close.  Direction to big Corporations for essentials???  Our country, Our Bodies, Our Homes, Our Communities, Our choice, let common sense prevail, our health matters.
